Perhaps due to Jim’s affect, or perhaps because of some secret ambition, Norma Jeane took weightlifting classes from an Olympic champion whereas she and Jim lived on the island. Jim and Norma Jeane started relationship casually in December of 1941, after Grace requested him to escort the budding young woman to the Christmas dance placed on by Doc’s firm. He was looking for somebody to spice up the morale of the boys overseas when he found 18-yr-outdated Norma Jeane Dougherty, who regarded quite fetching even in her company overalls. Norma Jeane moved in with Jim’s mother and began work at the Radio Plane Company in Burbank, a protection plant owned by actor Reginald Denny.
